The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
Social Media Ambassador
July 2019 - May 2020
In my role as the Social Media Ambassador for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, I created content for and managed the Washington State Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s social media accounts across Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Overall, my goals were to grow the accounts, increase brand awareness, and improve engagement. Through strategic content creation, engaging with followers, and more, I was able to achieve each of these goals across all platforms.
About the Washington State Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
About the Brand
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention seeks to empower those affected by suicide through research, education, and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death. With a chapter in all 50 states and more than 30 years of service, the American Foundation for Suicide prevention continues to grow and reach for higher goals to leave a lasting positive impact on the stigma surrounding mental health.
My Role & Strategy
When I joined the Washington State Chapter’s team, there was little strategy implemented into its deployment and fleeting consistency — the impact of both showed as engagement and vanity metrics suffered. I created a strategy that blended corporate resources, community-specific information, and unique or custom graphics to create a full-rounded social media experience that offered followers photos, graphics, and videos. My additional contributions of communication with our following led to increased brand loyalty, engagement, and overall growth.
